First ride on my 570

First ride on the 570 was great!!!. I came off a 05 YZ450 setup with rekluse for the woods that gives you an idea of what I was on before.

First off we started the day loading the 3 bikes into the back of the truck one 05 yz450 and a 05 CRF450 just moving the bikes around the 570 felt like a 450 that spent the days off eating to many glazed donuts. But the kickstand was a bonus!!

Once at the parking lot the guys stated their normal kick fest wile I just clicked the start button and presto. Going up the gravel road I noticed how the bike loved to lug much more than my 450 this took a bit of time to get used to. Once on the single tracks and tight rocky spots I fell in love. The bike has a custom valve job and it soaked up the rocks were the YZ450 would jump around and loved to play hop-scotch from rock to rock were the Berg just kept the tire on the ground and the bike planted.

While the bike feels very heavy on the ground without the engine moving you along it is very light wile in motion as light as my 450 yes and no. It does feel very light or lighter but the small skinny framed CRF made it feel a bit lighter mainly because of how small the bike feels.

The bike has tons of traction I have no idea how but it has a worn down tire and I am semi light so I most times have a big problem finding traction in the rocks were as this tractor would just lug up about anything I pointed it up. The huge bonus the bike was also the monster amount of TQ it has sometimes I would be too busy hanging on as it was dragging me up the steep rock faces in 2 or 3rd gear. Another bonus was the EFI system is spot on not once did I find a time where it would flame out were as the 450 would from time to time even if I was in 3rd just crawling I could still blip the throttle and it would loft the front end over anything I wanted. Although I still miss a little bit of the high RPM pep that the 450's have you can keep them wound out and still have much more left were the 570 needs to grab a gear as it fades off in the high rpm ranges a bunch.

Easy to work on. Very easy bike to clean the filter change the oil ECT very open for the basic maintenance.

Not too many cons but there are a few I need to address.

Rekluse spoils a guy the CRF 450 in the group is a fav bike of mine is setup for the woods and reminds me of the Berg in many ways while the Berg had tons of TQ I still killed it a few times just for the pure fact I was too busy hanging on and could not get to the shifter and clutch in time were with a rekluse it would be so much better and I think it would fit the bike very well. But my worry is no way to bump start and the berg has no kick starter :?

The bike also likes to build heat very fast in one spot it got a tad hot and I had to stop to cool it down were the 450 even going as slow as I was he drove right past me clutching and lugging the bike even more so than me and never got it hot till the very top of the hill I ended up stopping 2 times so I think a fan is a MUST I have one so I will need to bolt it up.

Does anyone notice the long throttle throw?? The 450's seem to go WOT with much less movement were as the Berg needed allot of twist to get it at WOT this at the end of the day was making the arm very tired.

Other than that I love the bike while the 450's still have their place the Berg 570 is a true mountain bike.

Revloc makes an auto-clutch that you can adjust on the fly to bump start - don't know if they have one for KTM/Husaberg yet. I love the Rekluse on my bike and I have not had to worry about bump starting it as the magic button always works. The only time I have had to bump start a bike is when the battery on my Ducati got old (4+ years) and run down. I'll keep an eye on the battery on my Hussy and replace it before it gets to that point.

You can get a throttle cam for the Hussy too.
