First ride on my 06 FE450E, observations and questions

Well I took out my new 2006 FE450E for a couple of hours of riding in circles at a motocross track this Saturday. Not a very challenging track, mostly sand, table top jumps only. All in all a good venue to just ride around and get a feel for things. As a basis for comparison, I also own a CRF450R with a Rekluse clutch and low woods gearing and a well sorted DRZ400E.

I took to the Husaberg quite instantaneously. It felt roomy enough for me despite my 6’8â€Â

the feel is somewhat uninspiring power at first, very electric smooth, linear all the way then wait till about 15 hours then the bike develops this nice low end power hit.

still it is not a CRF, but way way more then the DRZ 400 you'll see you'll see.

I mount the fastway handguard system - fits perfecftly. The Husaberg factory tall seat is a must. I am 6'5" always had bar risers but for some reason all I did on my berg was move the bars forward. I like it as is, no risers, though Husaberg has those too.

The more you ride the bike in the woods the more you'll notice the light quick accerelation, you get going faster then you think before you expect it.

still it is not a CRF 450 not meant to be. It's a Jedi Berg!

regarding jetting talk with Boss or Motoxotica. I run 4000 ft in 40-70F with a 45 PJ, I forgot what main, seems like the main is one size smaller then stock (I fogot what size main) and needle about third clip i think - using the stock needle
