Hey all,
I finally picked up my '98 FE501e. Took it out on Saturday. I was pretty impressed, I could turn it better than my 91 Husqvarna WMX 125 and ofcourse it made much more power than the Cagiva 125. I am very happy with my purchase. There are a few things though. The bike wanted to spit an sputter when going over half-throttle. THe seller had said if it spits and psutters, after about 20 minutes of riding to change the spark plug. Unfortunately, I didn't not have one, but after the ride went and bought a couple. I bought a C8E and a C7E. The 7 is one step hotter, I figured for the trail riding, it might be better off with the hotter plug---what do you guys think? The old plug came out covered in soot---looks like it is running really rich. It has the Dell-Orto carb on it, what would be the first step in adjusting the mix? A friend said to change the needle height, is that possiblle with this carb?
This bike has the ignition cover vent tubes installed. THey aren't realy set up like the was specified in the tech section,, but they are there.
The headlight was removed and in it's place is an MX style number plate. That is o-k, I don't plan on doing much night riding. The bike also has a Big-Gun exhuast with a header. The seller had said this particular header had been discontinuesd and this was one of the last. I am not sure, I am not a Husaberg-authority---yet.
I will post a pic when I get a chance----hopefully soon.
thanks,
Mark Piechowski
