Curious what everyone else's favorite upgrades have been to similar bikes.
Primarily going to be a trail bike but want it as comfy as can be for around town errands, hopefully no long freeway, but it needs to be able to maintain 70mph without feeling out of control for a bit to get to trails. I also will be coming back at night so a brighter headlight is definitely needed.

Right now it has some beefy hand guards, the subframe tank, keyed ignition, and an extra padded seat, and a scotts steering damper, heated grips, and some dirt only tires.

List as of now is:
LED headlight
new front brake pads
Mirrors that actually work
More dualsport oriented tires

Thinking about:
rekluse clutch or cush drive (since it will be on the road)
Gearing change (its as 12/52 right now and is too steep for me as a beginner)
tail bag for hauling camping gear
find out how the scotts steering damper works

Thanks for any feedback!

Bikes I’m talking about are 570s FS Head light bulb is brighter and cheap easy fix but may not bright enough.
70 mph your going to need at least 50/50 street dirt tires
Stock gearing is 14/48 70mph might be to low. OK off-road
Thinking 14/44 for street. My FS gearing is 14/40 have used 14/38 with no problems.
Rekluse great for new riders. if you can afford handlebar rear brake get it for off-road. Also if battery dies you should know how to bump start bike (temp adjusting clutch) so you can.
I like Doubletake mirrors Enduro type. They do make Adventure mirrors a little bigger and a little more $ better for the street.

Decent headlights can be big money. I bought a cheap copy mask off EBay and fitted the Cyclops 7000 lumen H4 LED. Still needed more. I added a couple of pushbike LED’s onto a cross bar. Now I can see!

I only use one mirror and it’s down under the throttle.

Cush drive hub/wheel or use the Mox sprocket. I bought my full Cush wheel new through AliExpress, in blue which aren’t advertised. $450. If you want contact details let me know.

Gearing - 15/45-46.

Rear bag - your choice really. I run the Kriega bags. Just be careful if you run the full over the seat bags that you don’t go too high. If you move back to compensate a jump the back end will whack you in the backside and can send you into a nose dive. My maximum is about 6”.

Before purchasing a steering damper I’d make sure all suspension settings are correct and headstem tight.

I like these mirrors a lot: https://www.doubletakemirror.com ... they easily swivel down when you're in the offroad stuff, but are also very solid on the road. Very high quality. Designed by the legendary neduro on advrider.com.

+1 on the Cyclops LED bulbs. They are high quality. I think they now have a bulb which fits directly into the "BA20D" socket headlight which is stock on most of these: https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/KTMHusky-BA20D-LED-Headlight-Bulb_p_175.html ... They used to not have a drop-in one so you had to adapt an H4 type. I think this one just, yeah, drops in.

I would advise staying on the gnarlier side of dualsport tires. IMO there isn't really an advantage to going with the rounded-off "dual-sport" style tires - you want to have actual knobs. In my opinion :) – I've tried a number of tires; I find the popular Dunlop 606 much too mild, for instance. I'm having great results with Mitas XT-644 - taller knobs than the 606 and definitely more off-road capable - but still great on the street. Just make sure you get the wheels balanced. Many people seem to think it's not necessary on a trailbike but I disagree !

(Picture of XT-644s attached. No reason imo to go any less aggressive on a Husaberg. Those ones in the picture are even a little bit worn.)

These are great bikes - enjoy! :)

Here is part of my to do list that I did on my 450 to prepare it. Mine was brand new and I set it up for enduro so most points wont apply to you.

Reading the list basically the only the first point apply to you :) but I leave the rest for "inspiration"

* Fix the weep hole (Keep the crud out of the weep hole - Husaberg Forum)
* De restrict (Should have been done on yours)
* Adjust throttle free play
* Tape break and clutch grips (It's cold where I live)
* Greas all bearings
* Mount neopren PDS protection.
* Fix an heat shield for the bottom of fuel tank
* Mount fan. (Should I get an BMW 320i temp sensor?).
* Mount radiator protection
* Mount engine protection and foam.
* Mount barkbusters
* Mount case saver
* Mount protection for the exhaust header
* Mount shark fin. (Break rotor protection)
* Demount all road stuff.
* Check that there are a 20microne inline fuel filter.

* Shorten steering bar
* Get steering bar risers
* Mount alu throttle
* Get and mount fork springs
* Get and mount rear spring
* Get lower seat

I went with the H4 as the ba20 doesn’t come in the same high lumen output. Hence the cheap mask. We need all the output we can get. ;)

Absolutely on the balancing. You can buy those cheap balance stands off eBay. Also it doubles for checking your spokes/runout.
