Recently purchased a 98 600FE. After I got it home, I drained the oil, radiator, brake fluid, gas, etc. The gas was very varnished, so I cleaned the carb and and am installing new fuel line. The bike supposedly ran when it was parked, about 6mo. ago. Any particular items to check besides new fluids and valve clearance before attempting to run my new machine? Could also use some new plastic and a few small items, are these parts available? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the fold brother. I think you have all the bases covered for the intial start. Try to kick start it cold. You want to avoid using the button when cold.
I think most all of the parts are available. Contact Dan at Motoxotica, I'm sure he can help with parts.

Just thought I'd let you know the Berg runs great, needs a few items, but am extremely happy with the way it started, shifted, etc. I'll be putting my order in to Motoexotica tomorrow.
