Well i havent riden for quite some time, how ever just got my 04 FE550 back together and was playing on a motor x track out of the city and another rider turned up with a 570.
My lucky day, I had already riden the 450 when it was first released in aus but not the 570. I very much enjoyed the 450 , very flickable plenty of power once up in the rpm.In tight rough or wet terrain i found it would be a breeze to ride and great suspention, even for me at 95kg resisted bottoming in general terrain.Effortless direction changing also.
My preference has always been big bore 4 strokes. The 570 was awsome, felt more or less the same as the 450, just developed plenty of torque and power down low, it was very smooth and controllable. Plenty of room around the tank and shroud area to keep your knees in tight as well.It turned and flicked around well in the corners. The 570 would be my choice,I like to ride on the bottom end of the rpm, just because I am to lazy and unfit to look for more gears, and its great to have the extra power there for that odd occation when it is needed.
There is far less induction noise from the motor as well. The bike felt like it could be riden from a more of a seated position which appeared to me ,like I was using less energy when riding compared to my current 550.I would have liked to set the bars a touch forward as i like to get over the front of the bike when turning, but that was only an ajustment and rider preference for me.Just jumping on it ,I could ride the same pace straight away as i could on the 550 with out even knowing the bike, so that was pretty reassuring, you could definatley feel some leaps forward in design on this one. the brakes were outstanding, compared to my 550 as well.
I would have liked to have had some form of bike fitness or riding ability when I had a ride on the 570, however it was not to be, after a few corners and a couple of straights, that was it for me, spewed up a couple of times and just couldnt get enough strength up put the bike into anything on the track that it was designed to handle.Never the less, it was fantastic to ride and i definately would have one.
Must do some exercise and start riding again!
Regards,
