Hey guys have not been on the form for awhile
Still riding my 2010 FE 570 48,000 miles, one total rebuild
spending winters at Lake Havasu, AZ
Riding is still great but you need to be about twenty miles out before the dam RZR bumps are gone( and I have one of those things, Turbo no less, sand wash destroyers)
Bike was starting hard had to put TPS at 7.8 volts to start still running lean
barely made back to town the other day, a was thinking water in fuel from gassing up at remote station
disassembled fuel system, everything LOOKed OK
With stuff at my camp micky moused a way to pressurize the system
The seam on the filter was splitting, spraying fuel under pressure
here is the kicker, No madder what I tried plastic fuel line would not come off the bad filter, to many miles I guess
New OEM filter does not come with new lines
Many people said to cut old stuff off and use rubber fuel line and auto filter
From my back ground have seen hundreds of fuel systems with rubber hoses turn to goo from fuel ethanol vapor
I will only use OEM stuff, can not take a chance on bad products and micky mouse fixes when riding hundreds of miles from camp
Bought OEM pump assemble with filter and lines best price I found was $550.
But it is fixed right, have total faith in the fix
Information to share
My fuel line connector release tools are in Idaho
so what I did was took a soft tire valve Schrader cap cut the end off, split it with a knife, worked better than a factory made tool, to release high pressure fuel connector line going to pressure regulator
have a great ride
