FI Light permanent on

Hi,
I posted here too http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=639366&page=28, but seems noone knows the answer. Maybe i have more luck here.

On the last ride the FE570 (2009, 100hrs) developed a problem:
The FI-Light started flashing, i could'nt count (had to concentrate on the track), i stopped then and recognised the fan connector was off. Clear thing, maybe a little overheating (40°C outside). Reinstalled the fan (started running then), refilled some water and went on. But soon after the light came back, glowing constantly.
After each break it took some time, until the light came back, so i'm assuming there might be something wrong with the temperature? I had the feeling, that the engine was hotter than normal, but beside the light everything was ok.
Does anybody know what a constant FI-Lamp on means, couldn't find anything in the users manual.

Yesterday i removed the thermostat and let the machine run for approx. 20min, no FI light came up (test ride not possible due to tropical heavy rainfall  )

Issue solved or just removed the failure indicator? :?:

Thanks!

On my last ride my bike was running very hot. It was a cool day on a tight trail. When it got hot it was hard to start and would sometimes just bog down and die. I had to stop and let the bike cool off periodically. My theory is that my injector is partially clogged and the bike was running lean. (haven't yet checked it)

But the FI light never came on. Don't know if that data is helpful or not, but thought I would share just in case.

Would it really be a problem if the fan connector was off? When the bike was brand new there was no fan connected and it ran OK (I assume).

My issue is different but since we're on FI light issues here's what I'm seeing.

I turn on the bike, cold, and the FI light is flashing fast and steady...no pattern...very fast flickering. When I then hit the switch to prime the FI system it stops. The bike starts and runs fine. So, any reason to be concerned>? I didn't notice this at the beginning so not sure if it just started or I just noticed it...is this normal?

This is not one of the patterns in the book so wondering if anyone else has seen this. I did install the fan kit but it's working as expected.

Thoughts?

So does mine it's normal :))

Johnny, you mean your bike does what mine does...blink like hell until you start it up?

If so, cool. I'll worry about other stuff then!

Yes mine pulses in rythm with the motor turning over till it fires into life

Hi!
Try Your thermostat in water. Just put it into a pot on heat source and observe, it will be ok! if thermostat will be fully opened just before water boiling. If it will be open but with just small gap it fail, and You have to replace it.
