Hi Mark,

a lot of the oils recommended here you can't get in the uk.

For the last four or five years i've been using Motul 5000 10W40, it's semi synthetic.
Just keep to the oil change and oil filter intervals and you'll be fine.

Loads of choices for the air filter, I've been using No Toil filter oil and cleaner, see what your local MX shop has.

Carl.

like he says
keep it fresh and pay attention to what you see on the magnet and pre filter screen

Indeed, it's almost tempting to go for cheaper oil given you should be changing it very often. I don't, but it has certainly crossed my mind sort of as a reminder "remember that cheap oil you put in last week? It was cheap - so change it now!"

I've been changing oil every 5 hours and wasting my money on the expensive Motorex 10w 50 for years. The good thing is that the motors are still running.

I also use the very expensive motorex and after 230+hours engine was still like new.... no wear on cylinder/piston looks great.
I do intervals every 15-20 hours depends on use sometimes change sooner If bike is ridden hard (supermoto track).
I don't believe in cheap oil the clutch works well with the motorex stuff still plenty life in my clutch plates I read some oil realy causes more wear on the clutch on these bikes so the money you save on cheaper oil you spend on replacing engine/clutch components I prefer to just use decent oil and get longer life out of things:cool:

The list price for the motorex is around 23€/liter and thats what you pay @ most ktm dealers here I try to buy it in big amounts online and get it around 15-16€/l still very expensive but if you want a cheap bike to ride you probably shouldn't ride a husaberg:p
