Thanks for the amazinly fast responce Davo.
Ill let you know you how i go. Picking up the bike this week...
Switch parts in the mail.

Sorry to ask this question again, but do you really feel the difference between maps?

I have the 70º map switch on my 2011 570, and don´t feel anything. I turn off the engine to switch the map and then restart, but nothing.
I´m wondering if I have installed it wrong, but don´t think so, everything is working nice, and both stop-engine buttoms are working.

Is there anything I can do to check that it is working properly?

Thanks.

hey BUXO - I've recently bought a 2012 FE570 and had the trailtech 3 pos map switch fitted by the dealer. I can certainly feel the difference between mild (pussyberg mode) and wild. Standard mode is a little harder to differentiate between the other modes. I'd be checking the resistance between your plug pins with a multi-meter according to the wiring diagrams supplied earlier in this thread. I have conflicting advice between dealers and this forum as to whether the trailtech or any other switch can change modes on the fly so best to ask your dealer. I also own a G450X that requires a 1min shutdown for a reset before changing between the 2 modes (its less noticeable on this bike than the FE), which seems to be the norm on 4 stroke bikes.

Me either
:(

at first I didn't feel any differences between the settings, but if you try it on tarmac you definitely will.

I got a tip last weekend that you don't even need to kill the engine just pull the clutch lever and close the throttle for a few sec while rolling and then the new map is set.

try it out!

Question

With the plug is there a positive and negative side I need to worry about?

I have all the parts now and going to make the switches this weekend.

Cheers.

Great help by all involved.

Could any of you electric wizards be so kind and tell me how I can wire in an indicator LED with two of the circuits - e.g. blue for mild and red for aggressive. :D

I'd like to put the switch in the upper right corner of my HDB top clamp to make it look like this:

LukasM - im working on putting an LED on mine.
i am running a separate circuit for the led as i did not want stuff up the resistance of the map switching

so what i have done is got a 6 post switch (instead of a 3 On/off/on)
and run a 12v to the second side and an RGB LED

ill try draw something up today and post it.

ill hopefully have some pictures by the weekend.

Hey,

For those looking to add led just wire it in to the wiring for the position you wish to represent the led with, just measure the resistance of the led prior and then minus that from the requirement of the resistor needed..

I will get a diagram up shortly

Related 570S question

I have not remapped my 2011 570S yet - just got it with low hours a(13.5)and doing lots of preventative maintenance, guards, etc. 1st.
Do the ignition map switch options require an unrestricted map to be loaded before it functions? I read that the street legal KTMs do not have functional map switches until re-mapping is done and wondered if the 570S is the same. I was considering a JD kit or re-map but if no map switch function is available with stock mapping I will re-map for sure. Are the base ignition curves changed with a re-map as well?

Thanks

I'm checking this thread on an iPad and none of the photos on any of the pages are showing.

Anybody else experiencing the same?
