I have a rattly cam chain and it appears to be the tensioner. I came across the Dirt Tricks tensioner and wanted to ask if this is the answer? I'm not interested in a manual tensioner and wanted to retain the hydraulic tensioner but one which works.

Thanks

Yes it works fine
I have a dirt tricks in my fe450 -11
Quiet and fine
Hade same rattel as you before the dirt tricks
Regards Mikael

The Dirt Teicks works good. They aren't hydraulic that I know of but work in a ratchet type system. Once the plunger comes out it won't return.

I installed the DJH Tensioner on my FE390. Works great!

Something like $80 and I received it in less than a week. Took 10 minutes to install and now the engine sounds much better!

Here's some pics of the OEM and the new DJH. Then I picked the bike up and put it back outside, ready to ride.

Thanks guys......I believe the Dirt Tricks tensioner uses hydraulic (oil) pressure to apply tension to the camchain and the ratchet holds it in place when the oil pressure drops

Good to know it works
