FE570 2012 remapping for UK

Has anyone shipped a late model 4 stroke berg to the EU? Mine will arrive in the UK any day now from Australia and Im wondering if it will require remapping by a dealer for EU fuel or just the usual 5 minute idle to auto recalibrate the ECU? I changed the oil before it left in October 2013, apart from a battery charge, are there any other recommendations before I fire her up?

Congrats on the new bike, you should have a ton of fun :bounce3:

As far as I can tell Fred, the eu aussie and nz bikes are all equal in specs. I have ever imported a bike but I would carry out the usual checks when taking delivery of a " new to me bike " I'm pretty sure your euro fuel is better than the spuzz we get here, just steer clear of ethanol blends.

As for the burn in I'm not sure, when I got my 610 back together I'll do a burn in and data log with the UST and wideband 02 to see if the burn in actually is effective.

Thanks for the advice, I'll just fill it and ride. I bought this bike new from MPE QLD and I couldnt part with it, so its going straight from sun and sand to snow!

That's dedication ! The MPE boys are great to deal with and do some very nice suspension work. Might need a revalve for the snow bike kit ? :bounce3:

Hey Fred was it expensive to import and ship over? Been looking for one and they don't come up in the UK too often.

Hey crispy. I know just how hard it is to find one of these in the EU let alone the UK. To send mine it cost me around £350 on top of the £1800 we spent on shipping the rest of our stuff. You have to add a £50 vehicle import fee, plus you have to prove you've owned it minimum 12 months prior to shipping to avoid duties and VAT. To freight here on its own I had quotes door to door for £1000 and upwards. Theres a few late model FE570s on www.bikesales.com.au but at $9500-10000 they're not cheap. Mine was only $12000 new 2 years ago. Let me know if youre still keen and I can PM you all the details. I briefly rode the 501 and the kato 500 before we left as selling mine and buying one of these in the UK was another option. They both seem like capable bikes, however, I felt that neither were for me.

Might be worth calling Midwest Racing in Melksham on 01225 791179. Biggest dealer on Husaberg in UK and very helpful, knowledgable guys. Sure they will give you a straight answer.

Enjoy the snow and mud.

Thanks for the advice Kipper. I'll give midwest a call tomorrow. I agree - its probably worth travelling a bit further to an experienced bergmeister mechanic. I've changed my location, just need to remove the sunny sky from the avatar.
