I will look into what you guys mentioned. How do I know how to set my idle timing ? Thanks

whats a pilot jet ?

FCR carburetors notorious for boogerd up and clogged pilot jets by old fuel, causing a lean condition like you described.

I have the area exposed that you have in the pic but cant seem to get to the pilot jet. Any info on how to take these pieces apart would be greatly appreciated

your kidding? inside that white plastic cup are three jets. the one nearest the engine is the pilot jet.

sorry guys, i have no idea what this stuff even is. thanks for all the help. i was putting the carb back in and my bike started sparking pretty badly, pretty sure its when i touch something by the battery...any comments would be appreciated

You are okay, if some people get a bit snarky... don't worry about it. We all have to start somewhere.

I am not endorsing this kit, but I carry one in my toolbox at all times. Good for when you are working on your carb!
