Hi guys
I’m sure you have touched on this before but what is the ideal gear ratio for average street on a 2014 fe501 on 17/150/70 ish Tyre
I’m converting my trail bike over very soon

Cheers

Look up your tranny ratios for accuracy but it generally depends on the type of roads that you are planning to use. I don't have any knowledge regarding the 2013-14 501 but with a rough guestimate I would propose to start with a 15 or 16t front sprocket and a 42 to 45 rear.

Check a on the internet an app called gearing calculator wich is pretty darn accurate, to have a better idea of the gearing so you don't buy sprockets and chains needlessly.

Have fun

15-42 if no big hills and not heavy 270lbs. I run this on my 570FS with no problems in the Bay Area.
