FE501 rear suspension compatibility?

Hi!
I have bought an old ('99 I think) FE501 bike, with the rear shock missing and the swingarm broken. Dont worry, it was dirt cheap :D but I would need those parts though. Are there any other models with compatible rear suspension? I heard that later Berg and KTM models share the same rear damper unit, is that right? Maybe the swingarm too?
Thanks!

The 1999s are a bit of an orphan. They have the older frame with a PDS shock and swingarm replacing the previous linkage system.

2000s got a new frame, still with PDS.

What's interchangeable, I dunno. I'd expect the older swingarms do fit, but no idea how the shock would match up. If using the linkage, you'd need to at least add the attachment for the link to the bottom of the frame.

Maybe a 2000+ arm and shock bolts in, dunno. And if it did, what it might do to the geometry. Still, if it does, shocks can be modified re length and damping.

the laterv swingarm is going to fit steve and the shocks are alays the same length so this story has nowhere to go wrong i don't think?

Szat, you need to confirm the 10th letter of the frame number up at the headstock please?

of course, hanging on for the correct swingarm and shock is easier!

Wow, thanks for the fast answers!
The frame number is: YU7FE5010R0000095

I would want to keep the factory suspension, but if another one bolts in with reset spring preload and damping thats fine too.

Thanks Taffy. Soo the question is on again, which shock and swingarm could be used in this bike?

well, obviously, it was made for a linkage system OK? you need an early Ohlins, two parts to the linkage and a swingarm with adjusters.

I am only bringing one part of the linkage system back from Sweden this week. I'm not even bothering with swing arms. The yanks break a lot of the 90s husabergs.
