The march 2006 Dirt Bike tested the 2006 Husky, yamaha, honda and ktms.

the 2006 Te-450 was the Hp king at 49.4 hp. The yamaha was 3 Hp less at 46.8 and the 450X and KTM 450XC were a full 4 hp less then the husky at 45.4 and 45.5 hp. Wow the TE-450 is 50 hp and street legal. It was the heavy king though by 3 lbs over the yamaha

where is the Fe450e about? any published Dyno runs last year or this for the Husaberg?

just curious, not a big deal for me.

A phrase, meant to apply to my other obsession, applies here as well. "More than a a handful is wasted." Ok, the parallel isn't perfect, but it's nice to think about both topics concurrently. :p

there is a test result here somewhere from a year ago. i believe that the honda produced 48-49 and the yam 46. the husey was 9 down.

if they were honest figures i'll be suprised. i would think that the husey is down by 4-6 bhp.

also the husey usually makes better quality and useable power going on previous history.

Taffy

I believe that was the Master Enduro Test. If you do a search you should find the link in a post. That Honda was not a stock bike I think. I just am not sure how much value should be placed on peak horsepower anyway.

Hi Bob,
Want to know for certain?
Put a hard compound street tire on your bike, drop it off for a couple of days, pay $300.00 - $500.00 for the time to properly tune it and you shall not only have your answer, you will benefit from improved performance.

Dale

PS
For the record:
The 100 mm bore 450 Husaberg is in the very low forties.
Stock and as delivered CRF, just under fifty.

Potential for a proper Bore and Stroke 450 Husaberg:
Dt_444.jpg

2000 Lineaweaver / Husaberg DT 444.

2006 Fe450e bore stroke: 100 / 57.2

I wonder if after the 15 hour breakin when that bottom end opens up if more power is evident, certainly I would expect the curve to change.

thanks for the offer Dale. I'll keep it in mind. Bike is running good. have to use the fuel screw to adjust down low for the COLD sierra mornings vs the warm days lately. I believe I am learning the "feel" of too lean flat spotting or hesitation cough ? I opend the fuel screw one COLD morning and solved it.......vs, I think I know a rich bog and too rich buttery feeling now..last sunday at 5000 feet and warm afternoon it got buttery down low so I closed back down that fuel screw. ya can't tune if you dont know squat and I'm still in the squat learning stages.

Hi Bob,
Your candor is admirable.

You are indeed a very honest and forthcoming man. Unfortunately such is not the norm in this day and age.

Regarding "Run In":
Truth be told I have yet to experience an appreciable power increase regarding a fresh engine and one that is "run in".

Please keep us posted as to your exploits and most of all enjoy your Husaberg.

Kind Regards,
Dale

So far as I can tell the 4fdys are doin abt 48/33 stock, the 6fidys abt 55/44, as it depends on the dyno, but then again Mr. Dale is the master. :)

As a rule I post uncorrected "DynoJet" Moment of Inertia values simply as said values have come to be accepted as the industry standard.

I own both Eddy Current and Water brakes in addition to my Moment of Inertia Dynojet unit.

In my humble opinion the value only has merit if measured using the same scale, hence the DynoJet values for broad comparison.

Kind Regards,
Dale
