Now that I have finally got a chance to use my bike, gotta tell you I am very impressed. It works much better on the street than I thought it would, and gets about 55 miles per gallon. Even with the cold, rainy weather we have been having here in Pa,,I am loving the commute to work! Thanks again for all the information on this site, it has helped immeasurably.

Yeah am building mine for the same thing tho on a restricted licence,so 33 @ the wheel, what sprockets you running?

I am running 14-48, it runs highway speeds well and still accellerates well. Unfortunately, it ran for a week with no problems then lost spark. It ran perfectly home, I changed the oil and tried to start it 2 hours later and nothing. Very frustrating. The joy of owning an old Husaberg I guess.

Hey hey!
I'm owner of one of those too :)
Just interested, how fast does 400 Berg go with example 14-48?

I had lots of starting problems myself, but a local dealer helped me and advised to tilt the bike all the way to the ground. So now you have your bike laying on ground and it leaks out a bit of fuel. When you lift it back up the fuel circulation in carb should be better and fresh fuel is there to start the engine.

That's how i started my baby again :) Are you sure that you didn't wet the sparkplug?

Actually, the bike was starting easily with the kick starter up to this point. I checked for spark with a new plug, so I do not think thats the problem. I am afraid I might have one of the dreaded SEM stator problems. I haven't had a chance to check my resistance values yet.
I had it up to an indicated 80 mph on the highway. It had more in it, but I would like to keep it together. I have seen the results of thumpers run too far, too fast when I roadraced. Plus, with the stock brakes, I don't want to overdue it. I have a berringer caliper and rotor to put on, but I need to get it running again first!
