FE400 electric re start

Southgramp I did a rewind for Kzoo he has a FE400 and I think know since the rewind his fires off the button from cold.

Make sure all the connections are good especially the ground, and are you using the lastest type battery?.
If you think it is the starter at fault then I think the one to go for is the Yamaha R6 motor, it has been said it has more punch than the Honda unit.

I suspect that you actually have an 01 model. If yours is truly a 2000 it will have a blue tank and the old style motor. How about a pic?

welcome to UHE mate. where are you from? south grampians? in scotland? a town? as eric says: is it the later model or earlier? i thought the 2001 had a blue tank eric? do you remember the lad ishacked (i said shacked!!!!) up with at force ride 1? came from south dakota and had a blue tanked '01 later model.

to get it running really sweet i would

rewind stator with sparks
IXU24 denso plug
later decomp lobe
dual valve spring kit
softer cam profile - a race cam is good.
new plug cap as a precaution.
no need to change follower bearings if you do most of the above)
camchain as a precaution
cam bearings as a precaution

Only the 2000 had the new style tank in Blue, positive
