Close enough for 'guvvy' work as they used to say when I were a lad...
I agree with Taffy on this: the 33PJ should work OK. I'm using a Dellorto on my Fe400e and it starts very easily (e-start or kick). There was a lot of fiddling required, but for the carb I'm using either a 34 or a 33PJ (cannot remember and all my notes are in the workshop). Follow the doc. It really is a mine of information if you're prepared to read. I presume your reading is much better than your writing!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
Having said that, if your bike e-starts well, there's likely very little wrong with it. Attend to your kickstart technique and all should be well. This works well enough for me to start my bike from cold wearing crocs:
1) choke on, manual decompressor pulled, kick five times;
2) release decompressor, press kickstart to get to TDC compression, pull decompressor to ease just past TDC;
3) check decompressor is released and choke is on, kickstart at top of stroke... and kick!
First time, almost every time.
I kick with my right leg, stood to the left of the bike (I've a dodgy left knee) with the stand retracted. If I'm wearing boots I find it much easier if I stand on a something at least 20cm high with my left leg so I can get my balance correct.
One last thing, Taff's 'crescent mod' helps a lot! You can thank me later Taffy...
Good luck, and don't give up.
Cheers... P
