Look Ma, its a boy!
I did the install today on my 2010 FE390 - took about three hours start to finish as the radiator fan and Force radiator guards got in the way, and had to take the radiator guards off, and right radiator hose off to move the fan out the way to remove the fuel tank, spilling coolant of course - was a pain, but will be quicker next time of course.
The best way to install the CV4 heat shield on this puppy is slowly... keep all the velcro on the heat shield, and remove small pieces of the backing paper at a time, stick it down, and repeat. Lots of wierd angles and indents on this fuel tank, so it isnt going to be flat or perfect - but the instructions say this is normal. Cost $AU108 and it solves a BIG problem - the header pipe directly under the fuel tank reaches mega degrees celcius.
Rad Fan + CV4 hopefully - my overheating fuel + overheating coolant days on technical single track, are behind me; I live in Australia - it gets HOT here, and I ride at 30 kms/hr
If coolant overheating still is an issue, I will use the totally synthetic "Liquid Intellegence 115" as recommended on this forum - it has a boiling point of 190 degrees, 30% higher than normal coolant. For Australian forum members - Ballards in Sydney sells it.
I bought the CV4 in Australia through Quantum Racing www.qri.biz - they are a wholesaler and don't sell to the public - I got lucky as the US distributor directed me to them personally; contact them for a retail outlet. It only took a week to get it shipped from the US.
Regards
