Hello everyone,
have any of you ever seen anything like this?

attachment.php

I bought a FE 390 2010 where the engine was supposedly rebuilt a few hours ago. Corresponding receipts are included.

During the first oil change, I found the oil strainer like this...

It looks like small pieces of rubber, metal and paper.. At the oil filter there were only a few small pieces of metal and on the oil drain screw with the magent were nothing to see..

I am a bit perplexed what this could be..

The engine runs quite well so far, but clatters a bit. The clattering could also come from the valves, because the valve clearance does not fit. Unfortunately the correct shims haven't arrived yet, so I could test it.

I hope somebody could help me out..
Regards!

Yes I have, helped a friend rebuild his bike and he was dropping bolts/parts of the floor with absorbent on it, didn’t clean them off properly and installed them in the motor. Check both screens and take the oil filter apart, these screens seem to be quite effective, so hopefully it caught the contaminated and they are not plugging off the small oil jets inside the motor.

Wow that looks nasty looks like there is bunch of sand, might be good idea to atleast take apart the oil lines to check if there's any crap.

Cant tell what is on the screen but I will advise you to inspect the valve train thoroughly. I recently redid my valve train as the previous owner ran it with a clogged screen and starved the head of oil. The cam pivots seize and the cams/shims wear very fast. Not a huge expense. But a lot of work to pull it all apart.
