I guess a assembly lube that is super slick. Check in a auto parts store or bike shop.

Hi, I try and use what they use and I think that was permatite white, not blue although in later times I used the loctite product as I thought that was better. Now with the rocker cover because you are taking it off all the time I use silicon that is black and heat resistant. Using this means the cleaning for next times reinstallation is less messy. The white permatite is like plastic but sticks and needs scraping as oppossed pealing
off.

Don't rush when putting it back together because you don't want to do it again!!

:) Hello, I would suggest that you use an high=temp chemical gasket such as Volvo sells. Part number 1161059-3 and specifically designed use on OHC assembly. It can be applied with a roller to the rocker cover surfaces and is very mess free. Silicone is a bloody mess-maker on these bikes and always finds it's way into the oil pump or screen. Hope this helps. DC
