FE 570 vs 450?? (in terms of handling)

Never ridden a 570. Want to! That kind of power can't help but be fun. I love my 450 though. For me it has very effective and plentiful power and it handles great. Perhaps it is like Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The middle one is just right

I had a FE390 -10 and changed it out to a FE570 -12. I have never tried a FE450 but I know that bike is identical to the 390 except the stroke lenght of the piston (and therefore the engine characteristics), but the frame and geometry should be identical?

The engine aside, my experience is that the 570 got a different feel to it than the 390. It is not as agile and it both looks and feels lower and longer, more big bike like. With that said, it is very agile and easy to handle, its just that the 390 frame and geometry is extreme (my ktm friends called it "the bmx"). The -11 and -12 model got the CC forks and my "old" 390 had the OC forks, that can be another factor in the different feel?

So I suppose you will notice a change from a 450 to a 570 regarding handling even if they had the same engine?

I do love the 570 and would never trade it to anything smaller! The torque and acceleration is wonderful and as I installed a recluse its really nice in tight trails and muddy technical areas. In tricky areas like that I put it 1 gear higher than normal and the recluse makes it smooth and gives me full control over the back wheel.

So my conclusion and personal experience is that I liked the 390 frame and geometry better but I wouldnt trade away the engine for the little difference in handling (and the recluse makes that a done deal for me).

Except for other bike-brands I have tested the Husa 390, 450, 570-09 and now I ride a 570-12.
I really liked the 570-09 but the new suspension, steering head and fork-angle on the 2012 model has made the big Husa even better.
If I always would ride competition in very technical terrain I might have choosen the 390 (or KTM350), but for all-purpose and aspecially in rocky or very muddy terrain I will always choose the 570.
The Husa with recluse is a perfect match.
We also ride winter season in snow-tracks and there the massive torque is perfect to use.

According to the Husaberg factory site, the difference in weight between the 450 and 570 is 0.5 kg. Steering head angle, wheelbase, ground clearance, and even handlebar length are all identical, and all of the components are identical. I'm no expert, but if there are handling differences between a 450 and a 570, I think it would have to be due to setup and suspension settings alone.

FE450 vs FE570

I've got both bikes with same front and rear sprocket (13/52).
450 seems more nimble in trails. I believe the transmission gearing of the 450 is a lot lower than the 570 which means engine is spinning faster. In the tight trails, I use 2 and 3 gear more on 450 and 1 and 2 more on 570.
On open road, 570 obviously has more balls.
