O.K. try not to laugh...I got my 'berg going tonight after extensive assembly and repair. I let the 'berg idle a few minutes and went to shut it off with the kill switch and she lit me up real good. I haven't checked yet, but I am assuming I either got a wire misconnected, or lost ground. I will check tomorrow, no since in pushing my good luck tonight. If anyone has seen this, shoot me a tip, I will try to find the wiring diagram and go from there tomorrow.

Hi
Maybe you have connected your kill switch to the blue & white cable, instead of the black & white cable. The Blue & white is a positive feed, you need a negative plus your black connection (also a negative).
Your kill switch must be wet for it to have happened though.
The only other possibility is that somehow your bike is positive earth !
Unlikely however.

Keep us posted

I ended up running a ground wire under the frame, I guess the powdercoating on the new clamps and handlebars were preventing grounding. Thanks

Where did you get the kill switch? Looking for an inexpensive one.

Tired of turning the key off and then I forget to turn it back on when it's time to leave after the break and nobody waits, of course.

Every time I ever tried to use the kill switch on my bike it fouled the spark plug. So now I leave the bike in gear and pop the clutch. The bike restarts better that way for some reason. When I read this I wondered when the kill switch shocked you did you remember the song " You Light Up My Life " ? Good luck you will have it sorted in no time.

The switch was already on the bike when I bought it. It has one wire going below to the electrics and was supposed to ground thru the bars to kill the ignition. I have never had that happen on a kill switch before. Normally if you're suspecting a bad plug wire or something you're ready for a shock, but in this case, it got me totally by surprise. We'll call it my first 'berg wake up call...
