On my fe501, after a 2 hours drive, I've a problem with a nut mounted on the secondary axle, which transmit the movement at weight balancing system and at the distribution chain.
The nut is simply unscrewing by it self after approximately after a 2 hours use.
The nut is unscrewing it self also if is correctly mounted, checked the torque table and locked with "Loctite green label".
Anybody had the same experience ?
Thank very much your for replaying me !
cheers Franco

I am unfamiliar with this setup myself, but... I just read about the green stuff from Loctite. I am still not sure how this fairs up against red, but I have used red all over my bike with no problems of fasterners removing themselves.
Make sure you have a clean surface though. Loctite likes an oil free environment.

Isn't the green label stuff intended for bolted assemblys that are already...well, assembled? You might try cleaning both parts real well and using red.

Hi Franko,

I am not sure I understand what nut you are refering to. If its is the nut for the 'Driving Shaft' item 9 of page 30 in the 2003 parts manual, it is susposed to be torqued to 80 Nm, the same as the nut on the crank shaft per page 43 of the 2003 Workshop manual. I find it hard to believe it would 'loosen' by its self if properly torqued.

If that is not the nut you are refering to, please give us the page and item number of it in the 2003 parts manual so we can help you.

regards,

Joe
