i have no power getting to the lights but the brake light still works ?

power is not getting to the plugs behind the headlight and all the fuses in the fuse box seem ok. Is there any other fuses I should be looking at or any other ideas ?

The Brake Light runs off Fuse 4. That is the Blue/Yellow Wire in the Loom. This also runs the Horn, the Blinkers (Turn Signals) and the Speedo.

Does the little Blue High Beam indicator light come on when the High Beam is on?
Have you checked the Globe in the Headlight?

The Headlight, rear Tail light and Number Plate Light (License Plate Light) run off Fuse 3. This is the Yellow Wire in the Loom.
The Yellow Wire goes from Fuse 3 to the Light Switch. You should be able to measure 12V on the Yellow Wire at the Light Switch (engine must be running).

The Wires from the Light Switch are Blue for High Beam and Green for Low Beam.
The Green goes straight to the Headlight socket from the Light Switch.
The Blue goes to both the Headlight socket and the little Blue High Beam indicator light.
Check for an Earth on the Brown Wire out of the Headlight socket.

Having an uneducated guess , I would say it is maybe the Light Switch. A bit of WD40 in the Switch might fix it.

cheers davo thats a good help.

I have no power getting to the switch let alone the bulb !

I'm wandering if it might be the lighting coil that is down and not producing any power, bike is still charging the battery though and i thought that was on the same circuit.

Hi Wardy,
There is no Lighting Coil in the new 2009 ~ 2011 Husabergs.
There is just 1 single 120 Watt Alternator that charges the Battery.
There is not even a seperate coil to feed the Ignition System.

Here is a diagram of the wiring for the Headlight, it comes direct from the battery:

You can test the Yellow Wire for Power with a test light just in front of the speedo. Earth the Test light wire and put the pointy bit on the Yellow wire. The engine must be running. The Power Relay is closed when the engine is running or winding over.
If the Test light comes on the problem is towards the Switch and Head Lamp.
If the Test light does not come on the the problem is towards the main Wiring Loom and Fuse 3.

You can also see in the picture the Blue and Green Wires that are alive when the Light Switch is on High Beam and Low Beam.

excellent davo, really good help there.

it looks like my problem is with the loom side as there is no power at the yellow wire.

i'll do some testing tonight and let you know the out come

many thanks

*******update**********

the wiring loom for the lighting circuit is shot. 2 wires are burnt out, the rest pretty rotten. I've just stripped it out completely and it needs replacing as a unit. 8O

I've found a part number for it so it must be available , i just hope it doesn't cost to much. :(

Hey Wardy,
Can you describe the location where the 2 wires are burnt out? Just be good to know for the future.
Can you post a picture or PM me a picture?

will do later on. it was where the subframe and battery box meets the tank. It looks like it the subframe had been refitted pinching the wiring for the rear light,it rubbed through and shorted. Then corroded.
