FE 03 650 High comp? / wont start..

Hi,

Got my FE 650 03 mod out for the spring and are trying to start it up, but it wont... It was a little hard started last year aswell, but it would start..

The situation is:
I have a spark on the plug, fresh fuel and a new battery. What bugs me is that the compression is harder than I remeber it to be. The starter will stall if i don't decomp it. (can't remember if this is normal). It will easily turn the engine around if decomped. I even broke the kickstart axel when trying to kick start it. Had a spare one, so it is replaced an working. But It even feels much harder to kickstart when on TDC.

-Should it start on the starter if decomp'ed?

-I'm pretty sure I lined up the primary gear and "the other gear with the one dot" when i reassambled the clutch, but can this be the problem?

-Do I need to adjust the valves?

-Any other suggestions?

yes, adjust the valves. loose exhaust will make it feel the compression.
if that doesn't help, the autodecomp is prolly shot.

The valves where ok.

The problem with the compression was that when I fixed the kickstart axle I removed the clutch and placed the primary gear and balancer gear one tooth of..

Got it running when pushing it down a hill, but not on kick- or el-start. So nothing mechanical anymore, think I have a stator issue.. low spark and wrong ohms. So moving over to Electrical..

By the way thanks for the replay.
