they're a sod to measure. now, when i bored scoots out for him i mentioned the problem and then i did mine last summer and again i mentioned it in the thread. i can't recall what i wrote. if i recall the outlet is 1mm bigger than the venturi under the slide. the face of the carb though isn't to be relied upon. how about getting a 39mm log made and if it passes through just it's a 39, fails = it's a 37 and is sloppy = 41mm.
the only used 41s available will be coming off the early CRF450s. everyone else used 39s including, i believe, the 520/525 katooms.
going back to the measuring... they are virtually impossible to measure correctly because at no point is the top and bottom of the carb in a vertical line 90 degrees to the venturi. it's the slopped slide housing that knackers it!
