dirtbiker said:Ok, guys, then tell me this thing - you're talking about leaning, leaning, leaning. Which means going to small main jets and so on. However, I have a 2005 FE450e with the whole Akrapovic system fitted. As I know my dealers pretty well, I asked them to send an e-mail to the factory thus asking how should I jet my Berg with Akrapovic on it to make the best performance. This is what I got from the factory:
Main jet - 185 summer, 190 winter (as in the Baltics we have cold winters around -20 Celsius)
Pilot Jet - 45
Screw - 1.5 turns
Needle - OBDVR one up from the middle
I use the bike at the sea level. So what can you tell about that?
Hi dirtbiker,
I presume that you have read previous postings regarding rejetting of the FCR carb it is up to whether you believe them or not.
You can't rejet a carb just by hear say, you have got to physically do it your self to get the best settings. But my findings and numerous others all find the standard jetting way to rich.
The art of jetting is to get the transition from one stage to another perfect so they just over lap, the standard jetting does this but grossly exaggerated.
I also run an Akrapovic but my settings as I've posted numerous times before are way leaner than the settings you have. But if you think you Berg runs good enough with what you have then that's Ok leave it be.
Regards
Sparks.
