Thinking of doing the conversion from a Dellorto carb to a Keihin, anyone have thoughts on this job? Which would really be a better carb and be easier to start and runability?? Thoughts?? Advise on issues please....Thanks

There is absolutely no doubt, the FCR is a much better carb than the Dell'Orto. You will have a quicker throttle response, the starting will be easier and the reliabilty is very good as soon as you find the proper jetting for your bike. So my advise is, go for it!

Dear UHE,

Which Keihim is better for a FE501 '02. A FCR 39 or 41 ?? :?:

Thanks a lot !!!

FWIW I had very good results with the obscure Lectron 38 non PJ on my two 501 (albeit earlier model) using 3.4 and 3.6 needle. One kick starts even after being upside-down... also crisp throttle response.
These carbs were relatively cheap, simple, reliable (and a snake to tune the first time) and metered from 1100ft to 6600ft cleanly in my experience.
