Hallo everyone

I am new here and I need some help. I find a Husaberg FC470 of 2002 (not the one with estart) in a very good price and I would like to know if you have to say anything about it. Any problems I should be aware about this model or anything I would need to fix. Is it worth to buy it? Is it easy to handle it or not? And how about start it? Do I need to get a new leg? I'm coming from a DT200WR which was like a toy but I don't really like 2strokes so I wand to get a 4stroker.

Thanks in advance guys

Hi Yannis,

I've got an 02 FE501 - now it's set up right it's real easy. Out green laning yesterday - stop start all day - always started 1st / 2nd kick from seated position & I'm small. Not always been like this though but once you've got it right there's no going back. Take a punt.

If the price is right and it all looks good and starts easy it could be worthwhile. You will need to adapt to a left foot kick too. Eventually expect problems with the SEM stator and the Dellorto and probably the starter. All fixable Check out the link to the Owners Doc on the left for the full story. It will need more maintenance than the DT did too, especially oil changes every 5 hours or so.

It will cost me 1700 euros, so I think is pretty cheap. I hope it would not need a big repair because I heard that it cost big money.

I know that it's a MX bike but I am gonna use it for tail rides so do you think it would be hard? I am gonna set up the suspension but what about the transmission?

Thanks guys

I would stay away from 01-03 models and concentrate on acquiring a 04-08 (or 09) instead. You will get a way bigger bang for the buck or Euro with an 04 and up bike.
