Fc 600 is electric start possible

Hi and welcome

If it does not have it, it will be very hard. Everything is possible but some times crazy

To start you would need a different right engine casing, then a couple of other inside parts that are not cheap, and finaly not sure but I think the frame is also different.

So I think might not be the best idea

The FC600 has a different frame and motor mounts than than the electric start FE and FX models of that era which had the starter mounted on the lower front of the motor. I don't remember what they did with the electric start models in 2000 (first year of the new frame) but 2001 models had the "new" style motor with the starter mounted behind the cylinder.

hhhhmm, thats makes me think, 2001+ newer ones have the starter behind the cylinder, wonder if a newer engine would fit in there? still experimental, definaly would be an expensive experiment if it didnt work :D but thats sounds easier than whats been suggested in the past which involves replacment of half of everything then adding one of everything else

The first question I have is why do you want electric start? I considered that when I bought my first Husaberg ('96 FE501 purchased new) and decided I really didn't want the added weight. My '96 501 was way easier to kick over than the Husqvarna 500XC 2-stroke it replaced. If the jetting is correct and the semi-auto compression release (actuated by the kick-start mechanism) properly adjusted the bike should be real easy to start. I have no problem kick starting my '05 FE550, even when cold. The '02 FE650 I used to have had a rather weak electric stater and was fairly easy to kick start also as long as it was done right.

Thanks for that mine is hard starting when cold maybe I should go ahead and do the engine rebuild first and then after proper tuning see how it is.

Hi senna

If you can't start it with the kick, it will be very difficult also with the starter.

You should check your settings first and maybe some upgrades, there is a lot of info here.
Check your ignition timing, valves, the condition of the stator, upgrade for the Taffy sledge and the newer auto decomp and spring, also check the carb for correct jetting and wear on the needle and atomiser, see if the float valve is closing correctly, ...

In my opinion first check carb, ignition timming and valves, just ask what you can't understand, there are people here that can help you.

Some times with this babes, there isn't one thing very wrong, there various things that are a little wrong, and if you add all of them you are in troublle
