A friend who rides KTM's (cough, cough) put on a fan he purchased from fan-man.com site. It was considerably cheaper with all the necessary hardware than the price Husaberg is quoting. Anyone have experience or an opinion about this alternative?

I put the 06-08 OEM fan on my 09 using the Enduro Engineering radiator guards. It was about $150 cheaper for the pair than going with the 09 OEM stuff.

Thank you sir!!

My pleasure. Added it to the web links for easy future reference.

Wouldn't it be novel if when the fan is not in use it could double as a wind powered generator / charger!

Great Idea!

I don't know about the older single lines without looking, but, on the 09 wiring there is a diode in line with the fan to prevent this very thing from happening when it's windmilling.

The specs for that fan list the current draw at 6.3 Amps. That's some current. Anyone know what the 'Berg fan draws?

re: CPU fans
Many of those inexpensive fans are not sealed.

Husaberg Factory Fan kit for 2010 FE570 draws 2.4Amps with the engine off.
Measured with a Fluke Multimeter
I set it to DC Amps and placed the Multimeter directly accross the Thermostat Switch at the bottom of the Radiator. This closes the circuit to the fan. Had to hit the start button for 1 second to engage the power relay on the bike to enable power to the Fan circuit.
