Going to install my fan kit and found all the mounting holes filled with Silicone. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: I have not heard of any one talking about this before so it must be from the previous owner. Not an easy thing to remove.
Umm... are you sure you're on the right mounting holes? Could you post a pic, please?gorick said:New Husaberg fan out of the box. This bike was like brand new when I bought it. 40 hr`s and 2000 km`s. Not a speck of sand anywhere. I dont think it ever saw dirt.
So it has never had a fan on it and the silicone is very good quality because it is stuck on like super glue. The holes are plugged end to end. I have to carefully cut the silicone out while trying not to damage the fins. Not easy to do in tight spaces! I have been using a very sharp tiny flat blade screwdriver to try and cut it out.
I just found it strange since no one else has ever said they had to clean out the holes before they could mount their fan. Really not sure why it is there.
