Factory Tool Kit

I bought an 04 Fe450...

Came with a small bag of Unior tools.

Pliers, T Handle, 3 sockets, 2 spanners, 1 axle wrench and... a bottle opener? That's what it looks like, it's 2 inches long with a hooked end, like a bottle opener, so what is it really for?

Don't make too much fun, cause I don't know what the heck this thing is for.

It seems to be pretty heavy duty, but maybe they take their beers seriously in Sweden...

That is for the steering nut adjuster or the rear shock spring nut adjuster.

What good is a tool kit without a beer opener 8O. I wouldnt dream of working on a bike without it

It is a bottle opener. A EU mandate prevents beer bottles from being easily opened without a tool, it's a minor protection thing. KTM is Austrian, don't forget. Shercos come with a cork screw (j/k).

This is obviously the same as the KTM tool, only with a KTM logo on the pouch. I have the KTM kit myself, exactly the same.

It certainley is a bottle opener.

However I've seen some weirdos using it as a rear preload spanner 8O

I swear if I could get a dollar each time someone started a "what is that tool in my kit?" thread on ktmtalk.com...

the big wrench has a nik on it for adjusting the rear sag. I still don't know what the beer opener does.
