Hi all, bit of an odd problem, my 2010 fe390 f.i. light does not work!! I have changed the led light with a new one, checked fuses and also checked power to the plug and seems to be there.
Have tried other plugs to make sure it is the right one i was using as well but nothing seems to work.
Have also tried creating a fault by unplugging the fuel pump to see if the light would give a code, but nothing at all!!

It is possible that both led are faulty but unlikely, especially with a new one!!
Hoping someone on here has a suggestion i can try?

Check the cables/loom. Probably a broken/shorted wire somewhere.

Known places in my experience is around the steering column right side and under the lower part of the fuel tank.

Checked all the wires, have power to the light all the way up. Put the light on a battery to see if it still works, all good. I might sound like a ******* asking this, but does the light illuminate at all during regular starting if there are no faults?
From what i remember it used to, but my memory isnt the greatest...
If so, maybe the mini circuit board is kaput!!

I think mine is a bulb, not a LED-type....

have you tried with a bulb ?
the LED is sensitive to polarity as you hopefully know :)

I havent tried with a bulb, didnt think of it to be honest, but will try that now!!
Yeah i triple checked it with the loom colors before i put it onto the battery....

Yes the FI light does come on when you're hitting the starter button. Perhaps check the wires going to the starter button?

Thanks!! I havent yet, but i have power all the way to the led circuit board on starting when in the plug and i can power the light direct off battery, just cant get it to light any other time & its the second one....

May just have to bite the bullet and try a 3rd to see if the others are faulty (ones the original one and the 2nd is a replacement about a year old)

Maybe you have 12v on all the time and the circuit closes the negative side of the bulb to make the light light
