Exhaust valve clearance

Ok guys, the Husaberg mysteries keep my buddies laughing every weekend!

We have seen MANY MANY 4 strokes needing clearance adjustment because the clearance gets reduced, Except for the mighty 2001 husa FX650, I actually keep gaining clearance on the exhaust valve.

I have read some old posts from Taffy and I have the exact same problem, All rocker components are in spec, but I am only holding adjuster on exhaust by 3/4 of the jam nut.

I was about to install lash caps on the stems, but I don't have enough clearance between the stem tip and the keepers.

Do I have to change the exhaust valves again? I only have about 30 hours on them?

Taffy, did you have any luck finding solution/causes for this?

thanks guys - love the bike, makes all my teammates laugh pretty hard before AND after rides or races!

My 01 650 had the the same problem it was the cam follower bearing getting sloppy. I replaced the bearings, no problems so far

Alright - Removed head and exhaust valve tips are worn right down to the keepers - another race and I surely would have dropped a valve.

Now the fun begins again - can anyone tell me if the 2001 exhaust valves (200008-01) are the same as the 2004+ valves? I cannot find a listing for pre 2004 models.
When I bought this bike the exhaust valves were new in a box, i didn't notice the part numbers but i believe they were Delwest brand.

Also, does someone have any info on the IWIS master link ordering number would be? I am not pressing a soft link back on the chain.

Lastly - there are 2 head gaskets listed in the part numbers 200321 - 01 (thick) and 200233 -01. Does anyone know which I should get?

thanks! I will post pictures of the valves later.

there is only one head gasket available = standard and has been like that for 10 years.

I can sell you an IWIS cam chain split link but unless the chain is new(ish) you are in danger of the cam chain getting stressed at the new link. I don't think it would break just because it IS an IWIS but that's a lot of stress.

question on valve answered elsewhere...

regards

Taffy
