Exhaust rocker arm 2003 same as 2001 ?

Hello !
Are the exhaust rocker arms from a 650 2003 the same as the 2001 ?

I don't believe so.

There was an upgrade in 2003. Most folks with the 01's upgraded their rockers to the 03's.

The 01's also had pressure lubricated rocker arm shafts. There is a tiny O ring at the 8 o clock position on the top of the head, and then the rocker box bolts down onto the O ring. This is the oil feed to the rocker arm shafts.

If you have an 01, you have to be sure that O ring is there, and careful assembly is required or you will have an oil leak there.

If I have inderstand,I can put 2003 rocker arm in my 2001...

Yes I have a 2001 650,and the tread of one of the adjustement scew is domaged :cry:
So I will maybe have to remplace the complete rocker arm. Husaberg don't have 2001 anymore but still have 2003 available...

you don't need a new or a used rocker arm here. the tappet pads are available as are the locknuts. simply remove the poor pad and fit a new one.

I had a thread buggered. I bought the right size tap and it cleaned up well.

Anyway, I think that the tappet is much harder then the rocker, even if it is the tappet that is ruined I would pay very close attention to the rocker tread.

It's not funny to loose one tappet.

well he did say that it was the thread of the tappet that was knackered! I'm not a mind reader you know!

I have them helicoiled (the wire type) with NO problems!

the answer is in knowing what the quesation REALLY was!

So yes It's the tread of the rocker who is domaged...

I'm searching but I don't found any helicoils in 6x0.75
Maybe do you know where to buy some Taffy ?
