just tinkering with my 99fe 600 earlier this evening, and noticed my exhaust pipes coming out from the cylinder glowing red!Never noticed it before ,even melted a little of the front fender, just had it a slighty high idle ,tinkering with the fuel screw, are the glowing pipes a problem or normal?

You more than likely had it at idle for a few minutes when you noticed it, I bet. Most any four stroke will do this if you leave it sitting at idle.

No worries, it's normal.

Even a WR 250F will glow red when idling at a stand still.

You should not let it idle like that for more than 2 minutes, which should be enough to adjust the idle or warm up the bike.
