Exhaust header to collector leak - common?

Well I am finally able to put a few hours on the new FS650 and I have a fairly pronounced exhaust leak out of the lower header to collector connection - is this a common issue?

If not, do I assume the bike was hit in transit and the exhaust has been bent...

Comments please.

Cheers

nb: This bike is sweet - I am happy dawg.... :D

As additional info, the right hand header doesn't seat nearly as far into the collector section as the left one. The difference is greater than an 1/8 of an inch.

I can't see how wiggling the various exhaust pieces around will improve things much...

nb: I'll post a pic when I figure out my new gallery

I've seen this with a couple bikes, and its easily resealed with hi temp silicone or exhaust sealer. Remount the exhaust with all the springs attached before you tighted the fasteners, starting near the head and finishing with the rear can mount.

So the snow is off the permafrost? We had more snow yesterday, maybe I should move north to avoid this global warming thing.....

Yea, I was going to reset everything and seal it up with RTV Copper

Yup! First goo-fest on the 300 coming up this weekend....

Global warming - I am not trying to sound selfish but, hey, bring it on! :D

I just noticed when chasing this leak problem there is only one fastener per header flange - this seems a poor call.. Have bergs always been this way?

Cheers

nb: roses are red, violets are blue, and I am ok, with it snowing on you.... 8)

Mark, haven't lost your sense of humour with that long cold dark winter :)

One fastener is fine, no leaks there, Husabergs signature, simple and to the point, no extra BS

You'll perhaps have to take me for a ride in the land of the midnight sun. Now THAT would be cool!! too work all day and ride all night, repeat you must sleep a ton in the winter resting from the long summer...

If you get up here and you can stand to ride other than yellow/blue :D , we'll take you out. 2 days drive from where you are and beautiful scenery on the way so maybe you want to take a few days and bring your own putt-putt.

Scenery like this

and all you have to do is pull off the highway a couple of hundred yards....

Cheers and the invitation is good for as long as I am around to honour it

Once you get to Yellowknife there is lots to see and do - mignight tee off at the Midnight Golf Classic on July 1!
