I need to send an invoice to a fellow who won my former Dellorto on eBay and I'd like to get an idea of the exact weight (lbs and oz).

The simple way would be to package it up ( but don`t tape it shut ) for shipping then take the whole thing to the post office and have them weigh it. That way you will know how much the whole thing weighs or if you want to weigh the carb separately and then the package. My guess on carby about 1/2 lb.

Anybody has had any experience with Global Express mail from USPS?
They are much cheaped that UPS and they provide insurance, tracking and proof of shipping.

Frog, global express is a much better deal than UPS and I hear that your package will clear customs much faster also. I have sent a few packages overseas using global express without any problems.

Not that fast, but affordable, and if you are really paranoid about a delivery, ask for their 'delivery confirmation return postcard' or whatever it is called. No offense here, I did it myself, because if you send a new Rekluse to a friend as a birthday gift, it better arrives!
I have used it a couple of times to ship somewhat heavier items internationally, and never had a problem.
