I find these types of threads very useful if I am buying a new (used) bike, and couldn't find anything for the 70 degree models. If it already exists, I would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Otherwise, who knows what has changed over the years? I'll start:

2009:
Introduction of the FE450 (95mm bore x 63.4mm stroke) and FE570 (100mm bore x 72mm stroke) offroaders.

2010:
Introduction of the FE390 (95mm bore x 55.5mm stroke) and FX450 (95mm bore x 63.4mm stroke with close ratio speed, closed cartridge forks, 19" rear) offroaders and the FS570 (at least in the EU, 100mm bore x 72mm stroke) supermoto (so obviously lots of parts are different from FEs) .

All models:
- Triple clamps now black and 22mm offset (vs. previous 19mm)
- Addition of low fuel light
- Full lights and switches (except FX)
- Updated cam chain tensioner
- Stronger piston rings
- Different bend 672 Renthal bar
- More aggressive FI mapping

2011:
- Frames are reinforced at the steering head area
- Oil sight glass changed from long slot to round type.
- FE models now come with closed cartridge forks
- Bold new graphics

Anybody else?

Compression ratio on the 570 was raised from 11.8 in 2009 to 12.2 in 2010.

2010 Elimination of the O2 sensor iforward.

2010 saw the introduction of the screen element on the air filter cage to help cure the cough/stall, along with an updated map. These did not totally solve the problem but it made it better.

2010 bikes in North America now green sticker legal due to lined black tank-that's why you need the low fuel light b/c you can no longer see the fuel level in the black EPA approved tank. Which also means they came delivered with lights, and a NFS legal spark arrestor.

2011 introduction of the FS model, 50 state street legal.

2011 introduction of the FE570S, or the 50 state street legal bike.

Not all the 2011 have the round oil site window. Mine still has the long slit one. Small detail.

2010 models in Australia still had the grey 2009 Fuel tanks that you can just see through.

my 2011 has the gray tank, still useless for fuel imho and the slit oil.

2010 Models had the modification done to the top of the Head where the bracket connects to the frame. The top of the head where the bracket bolts to was radiused (or machined round to remove the sharp corner) to prevent cracking.

Wasn't the frame reinforced around the steering head for 10 models as well ? And improvements made to the head gasket and camchain tensioner.
