Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you have had any problems with ergos on the 04. I have a lot of difficulty staying standing up on hill climbs, I always seem to get put on my ***. I cant get over the front and comfy, I've had the bar clamps right forward and bars rotated way up.....but no luck?

I do need bar risers also, but this seems to be heavily addressed on the website...however, has anyone noticed problems with a sloppy clamp set up due to the high risers? greater leverage and all? :?:

Bar risers and a tall seat. I was thinking about trying pivot pegz as well.

No problems with the bar risers as far as weakness or flexing.

You've done just about all you can do. The tall seat helps a lot. Too much bar riser will take away steering prowess, although if desert is where you ride, then it won't matter.

I'm 6'2", and most of my buddies are taller. The Fastway peg drops and moves the peg back, and most of the guys run those.

Honestly, in steeper climbs, your not going to be able to stand alot, so you'll have to align your riding style accordingly. Besides, siding when your bigger provides better traction!!!

The force parts catalog has 20 mm spacers and the tall seat, which should just about satisfy your needs

I am 6'4" tall, and have a 2006 FE450. I put the bar mount in the third position(forward hole, mount to the rear), to position the bars directly over the fork tube centerline. I then fabricated aluminum spacers to raise the bar mount 20mm, and had to get longer allen head metric bolts to fit it all up. I used the pieces from Acerbis hand protector mounts that go in the bar ends, sawed off all but the part that stays outside the bar, and put two together back to back on each side. My bars are the SX Magura. Look at the very center of your bar, in light silver script it will tell you the bend you have. No problem with flex or leverage. You may want to try position 4 on the bars, I found it too far forward. If you have a lower bar bend, you may want to raise the mount 30mm, or get a higher bar. By the way, my Berg came with the larger foot pegs, my 2000 did not. Check your pegs against a KTM SX, if smaller, get the KTM SX pegs, they really help large feet feel at home. KTM does sell 10 and 20mm shims for the bars if you don't have any leftovers to make them from.

funny thing is I'm 6'5" and once I put the husaberg tall seat on and moved the bars to the forward position, I accepted the berg as is and feel fine with it, while other bikes I always added bar risers. yes the cockpit of my Te-510 with a tall seat and bar risers is more open, but I bought the FE450e for the woods and I tend to accept it's smaller cockpit and enjoy standing then sitting in fluid motion while darting through the trees on my 06 Fe450e as is. It's so light and flickable that I guess I trick myself into accepting it as a smaller bike. I'm sure I dwrarf the thing, but I find no urgent need to bar rise.

looking at me here on the Husaberg, you can see I could use some more bar rise, but funny thing is I like it as is.

06Fe450e bars in forward position only, no risers

whereas look at my Husky with good bar riser, see how I stand up more.

Te-510 with protect concepts under mounts as bar risers

Thanks for the reply all. I might have shorter arms I think, as i cannot stand as tall as I like when cruising through flowing trails.

I think I'll knock up some aluminium spacers say 20mm high, and pull the rotation of the bars back slightly, they are beyond centre forks currently. This may put me back over the centre of the bike a little bit and stop me fighting the wide shrouds?

I have 05 mag bars on the bike....thay are loads taller than the 04's.

Any tips for the risers. just billet drilled out the size of the bar clamp at the base? Don't need to widen etc????

Thanks

the Husaberg 4 stroke force parts catalog has factory bar risers. 3 sizes as I remember

The spacers need to be wide enough to give some lateral support, mine are about 3/4" diameter, hole in the middle for the bolt, and work fine. If I could get ahold of some titanium stock, that would be cool, but aluminum has to do for now.

I had similar problems at 6 ft 2" and a stiff arm, ie my right elbow doesn't bend. Bars too forward can result in instability. Bar ends in line with axle, parallel to steering stem is about as far forward as you can go else leverage can cause wobbles.

I raised and moved forward the bars, fitted a high foam and lowered and rearset my pegs on my 98.

The factory Force risers come in 13mm or 18mm rise, along with the two necessary bolts. Under 30 bucks retail, should be way easier than making your own and the price is cheap enough.
