Entering Supermoto events in the UK?

Hi All,

I'm thinking of having a go at racing for the first time next year.

I've got some details for NoraSport, who run an open championship in the UK for supermoto racing. Does anybody else have details of a similar set up in the UK where "amateurs" can enter?

Also, I believe that paying for your subscription for the year with them qualifies you as having a "race license" for that series, is this the case even though you have no prior experience? I guess your qualifying lap times are the deciding factor when it comes to whether you race, or what group you go into for a race. Obtaining an ACU license must be a different affair then??

Cheers

Hey Crispin,

Every year it changes and every year the various organisers get together to arrange something for everyone and then they have a spat and stop talking to each other. The end of 07 was pretty bad and there are probably still lots of toys lying around on the ground from the last meetings

NORA is still your best bet for novice racing because you float to the level of your abilities. They are a good group of people and really have been the backbone of sm for countless years. As you say, all you need to do is join them and get their license and off you go.

NORA is the easiest and best place to start IMHO, unless there is a more local club, like down here we've also got southern supermoto.

Hope this helps,
Simon
