Hi all...i just have buy a fs650 2004 and i want to ask about engine start ....when its cold or hot its better to use the kickstarter all the time or e-starter dont have any problem?i have heared that the battery isnt so powerfull and i dont know if e starter is reliable to use it instead kickstarter...

wilst i've not had a 650 on my previous bergs i've tended to start from cold with the kickstarter and from warm with the electric starter.

and have kept the bike connected to an optimate 4 battery tender when not in use.

I can't speak about that particular bike, but bikes I've had in the past where the e starter was not totally lame the bike always started best with the e-starter because it turned the bike over faster and longer.

The guys around here with KTMs that have electric starts call them electric restarts, they always start from cold with a kick. But the e-start on my new berg works great!

I used to use the kicker for cold starts but then I reset the valves, adjusted the decomp cable, new plug and E starts everytime! So I use the button and keep battery on trickle charger.
