This is the exact problem that we had with a few of the 750cc kits as mentioned in my last post on that thread. We had milk (an emulsion of oil and water) in the gearbox, and the starting problem again like it was hot.

Once we fixed the head sealing problem it disappeared completely, I would say the head gasket is probably your culprit as well.

Best of luck your cow.

When you talk about switching to orange, please say you are not talking about the color of the radiator fluid. I have been running orange for three months. 8O

can i ask what model you are having the problem with some models have a o-ring in the clutch case that seals water it could be just the o-ring or gasket if the clutch case took a knock while rideing it possibly could disturb the seal just a thouht eay to pull the cver off than to pull the head off

milk and oil

took a look at the o ring in the clutch cover seems ok the small water pump seal looks not to good took the head off to check the head gasket , no signs of it blowing but the head bolts undid very easy :? anyway everything looks good top end camshaft :D pays to change the oil me thinks .while i post this reply do.s taffy need me get me tape measure out before he go.,s ape **** about all things testical

I had the exact same problem with my 2001 FC 550. I replaced both the seals and the O rings at the water pump. It still leaked. i then replaced the cylinder head. It still leaked. I finally split the case and replaced the three O rings at the base of the cylinder. No leak now. I was able to remove the cylinder and replace it without removing the crank shaft. It's tight but not difficult. All in all an inexpensive but time consuming fix.
Good luck.
