enduro to mx setup

I have an '03 fe 400 and will be using it a lot less on the bitumen and was wondering how much difference there is between the mx and enduro setup. I seem to go through fork seals every 60 hours of riding and I think it's cause I'm jumping too much.

Any ideas?

there is only one possible reason that the set up of your forks can be knocking out your seals. if you have too much fork oil in them. this shows in that the bike never bottoms out off big jumps. if this has happend then it's possible-maybe?

otherwise, change the make of seals. mine are a torquiose colour and i've had them in two seasons - so go figure.

otherwise, you're barking up the wrong tree, the enduro set up can't do these horriblr things to your bike!

the forks dont blow the seals clean out of the fork tube but after about 6 months when the bike is on the work station they'll leak all over the place.

Where I ride the area is all crushed granite and "bull dust" like talkum powder so I put some "stubby coolers" neoprene wraps around the fork legs but the dust may still be getting in.

could the oil be too thick. The dealer here said to put in 7.5 weight but my mates mxer only has 2.5 weight. any ideas?

they want 5W and they do a thing called a 'sock' could try that?

the next time the legs are down poor jizer over the leg whilst it's at 45 degrees, as the fluid pours down and to the left and right, IF it hits a chip, it will go around it like water around a rock in the grand rapids - you understand me?

you then have to file the chip down with the stone you would use for a cold chisel, ok? very gently, real girlie like!

if it's a 'pit' in the forks it can show the same but this time clean out, put paint in and slice clean wit knife.
