Electrical Power on 2011 FE570

Is the Berg set up to handle the power needs of installing HID lights, GPS, Heated Grips and an Auxillary Power Port? I am concerned about the battery dying. Are there any mods to the electrical system that I would need to make?

T,
difficult to answer as there don't appear to be any published specifications for the alternator.

If you're only going to be running auxillary equipment once in a while, I doubt you'll have problems, but I very much doubt you'll get away with running significant loads for any period of time without the battery becoming flat.

Estimated loads are 35W for a typical HID lamp, maybe 5W for a GPS, 40 to 60W for heated grips and who knows what on your auxillary port...

I'd be very surprised if you have more than 50W available, probably less.

Maybe someone else has tried? If not, why not just add some of the equipment and monitor your battery voltage when out riding. If it drops much below 13V you're likely heading for trouble.

Sorry I cannot be much more help than that.

Cheers... P

You have 200 watts on the FE570.

a 35 watt xenon light uses around 42-45 watts, i got 2 on my helmet and a big one in front, no problem charging!!
