Electric start for 06' fe450

Picked up an 06 fe450 with the electric start completely removed except for the starter motor.
Besides battery box, starter switch and battery, can anyone tell me the additional components I will need? Also, if anyone has the parts laying around wanting to make some quick cash please let me know.

you'll need:
2 HT leads in red
one in black
a starter solenoid (hopefully you still have the 4-pin connector still)
the bracket to hold the solenoid.
battery tray strap

inside the engine you will need two gears:
the starter clutch - one piece OEM item
the starter sprague - four pieces from OEM

you'll need a button on the bars too.

Quick question slightly off topic if you don't mind, does she run well with lights & horn still working with no battery fitted?

Hi Vaun,

You will see 2 outputs from the stator, 1 is for charging the battery and the other for lighting, the answer to your question is yes, it will work ok just on lights without a battery.

Nice one, going to try running her with no starter system fitted, lose a lot of weight if I can manage ti kick-start her okay
