Hi and be welcome here,
nice to have a new swede on board ;-) !

It´s really easy, just connect your kill button directly with your ignition
coil. The orange wire to ground is for engine stop.
You do not need to use the whole wiring harness, which could lead you to
problems (short circuits etc.)

Here is an updated drawing of the wiring diagram on my '98 with the wire colours shown. The 2000 is probably close.

It looks like the green wire with blue stripe fron the left side switch unit is the kill button. Also check that the black wire is actually connected to the frame of the bike - not just the handlebars.

Hribman is right. The kill buttons should connect the orange wire on the CDI to ground (ie the frame) when pressed.

On mine there are three kill switches - a button on the left switch unit, a lever on the right switch unit and a contact in the keyswitch. All are connected together and to the orange wire from the CDI.

If it doesn't work pull it apart. I have had ants & hornets get into switches. One often ends up splattered between the contacts, holding them apart when they should touch.

Okay, I am in MK Pionjär. There are people there from Kortedala now and then. A couple of Husaberg owners as well.
